Not thrilled

I am not as thrilled as I thought I might be writing this piece to be honest. I am sure that many drafts do not measure up to the final product so I hope to spend more time organizing my thoughts in a more logical pattern - there is a certain amount of fear and uncertainty involved when you take on a more social history. It is a good feeling actually but I am wondering if I am doing the topic justice?

  1. Keep at it! Irvington is a ctiy that needs the attention you are giving it. It is a city that many people would like to forget, howeever it is important that we expose what has happened and is happening to Irvington for the sake of irvington and other urban cities like it.
I am a commercial real estate broker covering Newark, East Orange and Irvington. I think the most compelling way to get people to care about these cities again is to look to their wonderful histories. I have been looking deeper into Newark and the history is amazing. I think many people's opinions abour newark would change if they understood the history of newark as more than a urban ghetto ravaged by riots - the same is true for irvington. This area of essex county was densley populated for a very good reason and due to corruption, racism, suburbanism, etc people abandoned these areas. There is a new trend toward urban living and these cities need to be recognized for the opportunity they provide.

Keep it up you are doing a great job. I just stumbled across your blog today and look forward to reading more. I have a blog at http://newarknjcre.wordpress.com I mainly discuss real estate however I do touch on history and revitalization.
